“Systematic Thinking Frameworks”, Tel-U Student Won Industrial Engineering National Competition

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Recently, students of Industrial Engineering Telkom University (Tel-U) successfully won 3rd place in the industrial engineering science national competition at University of Pelita Harapan(UPH) in Karawaci, Tangerang. The competition was attended by students of Industrial Engineering throughout Indonesia.

“The competition lasted for four days from 4th to 7th May. From the competition Tel-U managed to get three national champions from 24 teams participate in this competition, “said Satya Wicaksana Mukhlisin, students of Industrial Engineering, 2013, Wednesday (20/5). Two other members of the same department that Alfrianiko Anggriawan, and Irvina Nur Hegwina Wananka Tasti.

According to Satya, this competition was a quiz competition. On the selection of five of them were challenged to create a presentation based on a case study given. The case studies on problem solving in Tile Making Factory in Karawaci.
“In the presentation, we proposed to solve the DMAIC framework. From this framework proposed the method used were operational and alliance strategy, as well as medium-term strategy that was automation industry, “said Satya. Solutions offered in the form of problems solving for the long term and short term, he added.

“The advantages of the framework that could solve the problem with a systematic framework,” he said.
Stage by stage traversed Tel-U team with a full impression. According to Satya, it could be later strategy he recommends in this competition will be used as a reference for the factory to increase its profit. (Purel / risca)
