Three Tel-U Robot Teams Qualified for National Level

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Again, Telkom University (Tel-U) craved the brilliant achievements at robot contest. It was because three robot teams from Telkom University successfully became a champion on three categories at Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) Regional II 2016 organized by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek Higher Education).

The lucky three categories are the 1st champion on category of Legged Fire Robot Contest Indonesia (KRPAI) won by Ferch Armadeiras team, the 2nd champion on category of Dance Robot Contest Indonesia (KRSTI) won by Badaya Team SAS; and the Runner Up on category of Abu Indonesian Robot Contest (KRAI) won by Roobics Team.

This Robot contest is an annual event organized by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristek Higher Education) at national scale. KRI 2016 Regional II held in Indonesia University of Education (UPI) Bandung and lasted from Thursday to Saturday (28-30 / 4).

On the Legged KRPAI Category, Ferch Armadeiras team won this competition with Arjuna robot. The robot was developed by Fareza Rizky Ramadhan (Electrical Engineering 2013), Dewa Satria Irawan (Electrical Engineering 2013), Aditya Putra Laksana (Electrical Engineering 2013), Amar Ma’ruf (Electrical Engineering 2014), and Swido Gari Tidargo (Electrical Engineering 2014).

As for KRSTI category, SAS Badaya team won 2nd place with Doi and Brew robot. Two robots were created by M. Abid Irwan (D3 Telecommunication Engineering 2014), Aris Pujud Kurniawan (Computer Systems 2015), M. Agung Baskoro (D3 Computer Engineering in 2013), and Lutfi Fauzi (D3 Telecommunication Engineering (2015). In making Doi and Brew robot, the team was also assisted by Megatari Wahyuningrum (D3 Computer Engineering), Indah Trizkiyani (D3 Computer Engineering), Rakhmi (Computer Systems), and Ryan Febriansyah (D3 Telecommunication Engineering).

KRSTI Category set Mask Betawi Dancer Robot as the theme. Each team is required to make a humanoid robot with a maximum of two automated robots and able to dance follow the music of Mask Betawi arts.

While Indonesia ABU Robot Contest (KRAI) category, Roobics team crowned as runner up with Black Pearl eco-robot and hybrid-robot Humpback. Two robots were developed by Hendriadi Mukri (Telecommunication Engineering 2013), Andri Dwi Septian (Computer Systems in 2014), Eduardus Antoni Setyawan (Electrical Engineering 2014), Alyani Durrah Fauzan (Electrical Engineering 2014), Khikmah Nur Dwi Nofanti (Electrical Engineering 2013), and Robby Yanuar Setiadi (Electrical Engineering 2014).

This year, KRAI set “Efficiency Renewable Energy” as the theme. Eco-robots and hybrid-robot received command to pass several stages obstacles then install the propeller into a turbine engine.
With this achievement, the third team from Tel-U will then represent regional II to compete in the Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) at National level which will take place at the National Electronic Engineering Polytechnic of Surabaya (PENS) on next 1 to 4 June 2016. (Purel / EAD)
