Two Telkom University teams Crowned as champion in SIMBIZ 2017

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Two Telkom University (Tel-U) teams assigned as champion in Business Simulation 2017 (SIMBIZ 2017), which was held at Bina Nusantara (Binus) International University, Jakarta, on 12-15 January.

This nine years annual event organized by Binus International Trading Enterprise (BITE) took theme “Entrepreneuring Your Way Forward” which was attended by participants from high school to university level.

Dani Aji Pratama, a student of Industrial Engineering School of Engineering Industry (FRI) Tel-U said SIMBIZ 2017 competition was divided into three categories. On the first day, participants joined Rally Game where all the teams will be given questions about general knowledge, the Management and mathematics. The second day continued with the race categories namely Ja Championship Titan business simulation contest using the website and run by online.

“On Titan Ja we act as the CEO of the business that with six decision variables that will determine the company whether win or not,” said Dani, Wednesday (18/1).

While on the last day all participants who have followed a rally game and Ja Titan, then selected 10 participants to participate in the Business Plan which led the participants to show the entrepreneurial side through creative and innovative business ideas. The participants also had to plan every aspect of their business such as management, production, marketing and distribution.

“From this competition, there is two winner criteria, namely Ja Titan Championship and overall champion – the winner win all the competition,” he said.

In SIMBIZ 2017, Tel-U sent six teams, and two of them successfully managed as a champion. There are Inventory team consisted of Imran Maulana Muhammad and Muhammad Ridho Firdaus which got 2nd place overall and Telkom 5 Team, Dani Aji Pratama and Adi Putro achieved 1st place at Ja Titan Championship.

Dani admitted impressed with this event because its open the window to meet friends from other campuses to learn together.

He urged other students who will follow the event as it’s more commonly practiced and particularly, expand knowledge on business world. “Also, be familiar with Ja Titan exercises and prepare a creative business plan as much as possible,” he said. (PR / AW)
