Bandung, Telkom University – For university, the library is place where the academic community can access information and knowledge. In order to increase the library services, the utilization of information technology needs to be done at this time. This was disclosed by Vice Rector III Telkom University, AMA. Suyanto, DBA at a scientific seminar entitled “Role of Librarians in the Open Access Movement To Progress of Science” on Wednesday (22.02.17) Manterawu Building Telkom University.
“Technology should be utilized. Utilization of technology is to share knowledge. Now Telkom University through Open Library try to utilize it and be able to share information and collaborate with other libraries.” AMA said.
Scientific seminar attended by librarians who are members of FPPTI ( Indonesian Universities Library Forum) aimed to spark librarian’s enthusiast in the utilization of technology in serving the academic community and the public. National Library in the service named Indonesia One Search expected a collaboration with the Open Library Telkom University.
Ismail Fahmi as a representative of the National Library, as well as the initiator of Indonesia One Search explained more clearly that “Essentially, our own innovation and new technologies key is the librarians themselves. Librarians can help publication, dissemination and create reports that are shared via Indonesia One Search portal or social media “said Fahmi.
AMA convinced through Open Library, Telkom University is able to educate the nation, sharing knowledge and creating collaborations with other libraries. “Let us raise the collaboration to build Indonesian.
