Tel-U Support the Students to Actively Involved in Organization

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Director of Student Affairs Telkom University (Tel-U), Andijoko Tjahyono explained that Tel-U fully supports UKM Fair 2016. “Due to build a world class character, leadership and personality, it is not enough only with the academic skill,” he said.

It is conveyed by Andijoko in the middle of the opening UKM Fair 2016 held at Telkom University Convention Hall (Tuch) on Saturday and Sunday (27 to 28 August 2016). UKM Fair 2016 is an annual event organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) Tel-U to introduce a wide range of UKM in Tel-U campus.

“Only 42.3 percent of students who are actively involved in the UKM, whereas with activism, manage the event and being active in organization, can be very effective in building the character of students,” he said.

Andijoko added that this year, Tel-U targets the absorption of 65 percent of new students who enroll UKM. “If the target quantity gain this year, then the next year the target quality is a priority,” he said.

In harmony with Andijoko, Vice Rector IV Tel-U, Dr. M Yahya Arwiyah expressed the hope that in the future this activity could be maintained and developed so that the hidden talents of students can be seen and channeled.

“Not only socializing, UKM Fair 2016 should be able to find hidden diamond inside the student of Tel-U, so that it can spawn more achievements in the future,” said Yahya. (Purel / flo)
