KYIV, TEL-U - Telkom University (Tel-U) established educational partnerships with two prominent universities in Ukraine, the National Aviation University (NAU), and Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko (Taras Shevchenko KNU). However, it could be that not all Tel-U academicians recognize these two universities. Thus, here is a brief description about those universities.
NAU is a state university that is not only specialized in civil aviation education, but also complete with faculties of engineering (computer, IT, etc.), International Relations, Law, Economics and Cultural Sciences. Established in 1933, this university has had a strong tradition of research in the field of aviation technology, radar, and IT.
While the KNU Taras Shevchenko, is one of the reputable state universities in Ukraine, which is known as a center of excellence in Eastern Europe. Working closely with the Indonesian Embassy, this university on 2012 has opened Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, and on 2015 founded the Center for the Study of Indonesia Language and Literature and includes as university which received beneficiaries of Kemristek and Higher Education by sending Indonesian teacher at SAME – BIPA program (Scheme for Academic Mobility and Exchange - Indonesian for Foreign Speakers).
Cooperation between the two universities is a new breakthrough. It is because for the first time during 24 years history of bilateral relations between Indonesia - Ukraine there is one university in Indonesia, which signed an agreement with university in Ukraine. Off course it will open up wide opportunities for educational cooperation between the two countries. (Purel / fds)
