Chairman of Telkom Foundation Praised The New Telkom University Library

BANDUNG, Telkom University – To move the intellectual spirit, strengthening of research and sustainable global insight, Telkom University keen to build infrastructure in the form of academic literacy center, Telkom University Open Library (Tuol), centered on the 5th floor Manterwau Building, Campus complex Telkom, Bandung.

Telkom Foundation Chairman S. Dwi Purnomo, accompanied by Vice Rector of Admissions and International Cooperation AMA Suyanto, along with the Deans of the Telkom University, Friday afternoon (02/03/2017) visited the library which has a collection of more than 60 thousand titles of books both national and international publications. According to the certification of the National Library (NLI), a library which will be launched on 22 February 2017 it has gained accreditation A.

“It’s for our students, comfort and best facilities that we focus on them, the generation that must be our priority. There is big library in other campuses, but the convenience and richness of collections like this one is still limited” said Dwi.

Furthermore Dwi expressed admiration related facilities in the library, in addition to accommodating the collection for the entire course at the Telkom University, also provided coffee corner to relax for a visitor who is resting working papers, theses, and other research.

Other facilities that also praised by Dwi, including spaces academic counseling that can be used as a discussion of students and lecturers, meeting room, hall auditorium, wall of fame, multi media room theater, overall access has been supported by digital devices, so that students will have no trouble looking for a collection.

Vice Rector of Admissions and International Cooperation AMA Suyanto explained, that this place can be an information center for all the science in the entire faculty at Telkom University, he also said that this library is supported by International partnerships, one of them is the Asia Foundation ,

“Asia Foundation partnered with Telkom University Open Library to develop knowledge through their publications, we believed as a center of literacy throughout West Java, thus other universities (in West Java) receive the benefits of science from the Asia Foundation through Telkom University” he said.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of Telkom Foundaton appreciate the progressive and rapid performance of Telkom University, he told that collaboration across stakeholders for the development of Telkom University more solid and elaborative. Both the construction of infrastructure and superstructure (human resources).
