Head of Textile Craft And Modes Studies Program Received Achievement in South Korea

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Again,  Telkom University (Tel-U) carved the Achievement in international World, It was from the head of Textile Craft and Mode Studies Program School of Creative Industries Tel-U, Arini Arumsari, S.Ds., The M.Ds been able to get the Best Design Award ITCCC (International Textile Costume Culture Conference) which held on September 30 to October 1 2016 at Samsung Hall – Yonsei University – Seoul – South Korea.

ITCCC is an international conference in the field of fashion, textile design, costumes, and also Culture which is held annually started in 2012. The event held alternately in different universities in Asia which is joined at Costume Culture Association and Ars Textrina. The participants are from students, lecturer and other participants around universities in South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and Turkey.

The ITCCC contain of two main activities include review paper submission and then selected to be presented in oral presentation or a poster presentation. On this category the committee will select the best presenter and will be given an award as the “best presenter”.

The second activity was organized Artwork / design submissions which were also selected then displayed in the exhibition during the conference. On this category, the designer or artist with the best work will be awarded the “best design”. “Thank God I got the award for best design,” said Arini on Wednesday (12/10).

Through the work off fabric with the title “Autumn” Arini explained the title was reflect the fall inspiration and became the major theme. “Visually in terms of color, shape, texture and the composition of these various elements, the works that I made to resemble the leaves falling in autumn,” he said.

Arini told us that this work is part of the research entitled “Optimizing Brocade Fabric Patchwork in Eco-fashion Context” in which the core of this research is to find potential residual brocade which is very abundant in quantity and quality. “I think brocade’s patchwork, has unique characteristics compared with other fabrics,” he said.

Having been given this award Arini hope to spread the spirit for fellow KTM lecturer in particular and also the entire academic of FIK and Telkom University in general. “Hopefully, this work could make me more excited to work better and to transmit to the entire academic community of Tel-U,” she said.
