Rector Asked The Internship Students to Actively Involved in Company

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Rector of Telkom University (Tel-U), Prof. Ir Mochamad Ashari, M, Eng, PhD, asked to the internship students at Telkom Group and other companies to master their field and actively involved to the company. “Students should know what to do and give their best,” said Rector.

This message was delivered by Rector in Opening Ceremony of Geladi Program at Indigo Theater Telkom Corporate University, Jalan Gegerkalong Hilir, Bandung, on Thursday (26/5). Geladi is one of the activities required for Tel – U students which has passed the second year, conducted over 40 working days.

This time the total number of students there are 2,282 people, came from four schools such as School of Electrical Engineering (FTE), School of Industrial Engineering (FRI), School of Informatics (FIF) and School of Applied Science (FIT). They were deployed at Telkom Group as many as 883 people, BPJS 322 people, PT.Pos Indonesia 263 people, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology 76 people, PPDU 46 people, PT Inti 34 people and 658 people of other agencies.

Rector said the special thing simultaneously dispatched 2,282 students to do internship in the company. Rector expected that the program can be improved so that it can be followed by students from all departments. “We are the only university were dispatched students at once to do an internship to various companies,” he said.

He added that, on August 2016 will be implemented the new 2016 curriculum specifically for D3. On this new curriculum D3, the final semester students will be charged the full internship at the company for one semester while making the final project. “This is to implement the link and match as well as the beginning for students to get to recognize the work’s environment,” he said.

On the same occasion the Director of Human Capital Management (HCM) Telkom Herdy K. Harman explained that Telkom is implementing a new program called Talent Scout where Telkom will visit each university in Indonesia to find the best talents.

” 75 percent of the recruited employee receive special invitation and which we find not only star in the class with high marks, but also students who are actively involved in the community, active in organizations both within and outside the campus,” he said. (Purel / AW)
