BANDUNG, TEL-U – “Joni Sok Jagoan”, a movie by Sebelas Sinema achieved the first position at the Police Short Movie Festival & Animation Competition 2016. The third annual event opened the registration started on April 11 to June 4, 2016.
Covering with “HERO” theme with Police nuanced, the competition is open to public, with a maximum duration of short movie is maximum five minutes and three minutes for animated movie.
A total of 113 movies are registered. After the selection, resulted 10 short moviesand three animated movie which aside to go to the final round and displayed in the XXI Epicentrum, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Sunday (19/6). The movies were judged by professional judges such as Reza Rahadian, Prisia Nasution, Robert Ronny, Arnas Irmal, Eko Budi, and Police Commissioner Drs. Martinus Sitompul, M.Si.
The assessment announced that Sebelas Sinema managed to get the first position, not only that, the alumni of Telkom University (Tel-U) Mustafa, the director in the movie “Joni Sok Jagoan” also won best director at Police Movie Festival 2016, and the story of “Joni Sok Jagoan “also received an award as the best story ideas.
According to Mustafa through 2 weeks process, the idea of “Joni Sok Jagoan” sourced form himself and other ideas from crew’s friends. “I am also interested in the story of Bruce Almighty Movie, starring Jim Carrey” he said.
Mustafa explained that the story of “Joni Sok Jagoan” told the story of Joni, a high school student who was urinating in the trees and were met by the police officer who came unexpectedly. Suddenly being ticketed by the police, Joni fed up and pointed to the cop’s chest and said if he were a police he would be better than the police.
Suddenly, they swapped clothes. Joni uniformed police and police wore High School uniform. The new issue was raised during a meeting with Sarah, a woman who needs help. “Now many are underestimating the police, so I had an idea what if we suddenly become a policeman, could not?” he said.
According to one jury Reza Rahardian “Joni Sok Jagoan” was selected as the winner because the ideas of the director is very relevant to what is happening today.
“Cinematic, short, well targeted, the clear story from the beginning to the end, the message would be delivered fairly clear, and I saw the general audience reaction was very happy,” Reza said as quoted by tempo.co. (Purel / aw)
