Tel-U Students Create Scrabble for Blind Person

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Hernanda Praditya, Nisha Oneng Istifani and Muhammad Bayu Satria Laksono, the team joined in Tink’s team made Scrabble game product for blind persons. Uniquely Scrabble uses Braille and made of wood waste.

Because of its uniqueness, Tim Tink’s challenged to join the Creative Entrepreneurship Competition (CREATION) 2015 organized by the University of Parahyangan Bandung and achieved 3rd position in Business Planning Category on April.

“We’ve simulated Braille Scrabble in Schools located in Jalan Padjadjaran Bandung. Accompanied by good intentions, praise to God, it is going smoothly, “said Bayu Satria Muhammad Laksono, a student of Industrial Engineering class of 2013, Monday (5/4).

Initially, said Satria, the current stage of proposals submission, the proposal selected into eight finalists which qualify for next stage that is presentation stage. “Alhamdulillah, with teamwork spirit, we can finish appropriate proposal and also useful product,” he continued.

Because the competition theme “Sustain Environment by Recycling”, a challenge that must be faced is how the team through Scrabble products, wood waste can be worth the benefits and useful for others, especially for blind persons.

“Jury assessed the benefits and found interesting and creative part of our product. In business plan making, keep the financial part more thoroughly. Then prepare a creative and interesting presentation, “said Muhammad Satria.

Tink’s team are members of the Research And Competition Members Techno Economy in Industrial Engineering Laboratory. “I did Very grateful to be able to get an award like this,” he concluded. (Purel / Risca)
