Tel-U Students Must Develop Big Data to Support Business World

BANDUNG, TEL-U – The presence of Big Data in business activity into something new and important to learn because it can help the business process faster and more effective. Unfortunately, there is no intensive business studies courses at university level in Indonesia that approach Big Data with intensely methods in the educational process or curriculum.

“Therefore, to increase the awareness and skills of MBTI students about Big Data, we introduce and engage students to think Big Data in everyday life, especially for running business processes,” said Dean of the School of Economics and Business (FEB Tel-U) Ir. Dodie Tricahyono MM, PhD.

It was delivered in the middle of Data Science Days were held at the Tel-U Miossu FEB starting on 9 to 10 November 2016. The event was organized by the Business Management Department of Telecommunications and Informatics School of Economics and Business Telkom University (MBTI Prodi FEB Tel -U).

According to Dodie, theme “Data Science is The Next Big Things” have to explain that the industrial development of big data or the use of big data for the organization, including businesses, create resources that understand this field more is needed. “From there the data is obtained that science be the answer to meeting these needs through increased talent in the field of data science,” he said.

Data Science Days program filled with workshops, seminars and exhibition. Workshop on the first day filled with presentations students’ final-S1 MBTI (FEB) in the field of data science and also sharing alumni who are already working in the industry of data science. “Alumni provide input for improvement of the younger class final,” he said.

The seminar is filled by the speaker faculty Tel-U, Andry Alam, CEO of Solution 247, Beno Kunto, CEO of MediaWave, Yose Rizal, CEO of Nolimit, Aqsath Rashid, Country Manager of Novaon Indonesia, Ergintianus Tarin, and alumnus Tel-U at once CEO of Aruna, Farid Naufal.

While the exhibition lasts for seminars, featuring some of the industry engaged in the field of data science as well as the appearance of students’ final project demo-S1 MBTI (FEB).

She hopes this event can improve the quality of research both students and lecturers at the FEB, and also the establishment of cooperation with either industry internship opportunities or recruitment in order to improve the quality of human resources in the field of big data. (Pr / aw)
