BANDUNG, TEL-U – I Gusti Agung Rangga Lawe, Visual Communication Design students from School of Creative Industries Telkom University (DKV FIK Tel-U) won 3rd place at Mandiri e-money Card Design organized by Bank Mandiri and HelloMotion. This competition took place on line at the website hellomotion.com.
Entitled “Sharing”, the competition was held to welcome the holy month of Ramadan and aims to transform e-money cards’ design to be more attractive and awesome. It will give an aesthetics’ touch of previous e-money card’s design.
The participants came from various cities around Indonesia and they joined this “blind contest”. This competition began on 27 April 2016 until the due date of design on May 8, 2016 at 9:00 pm, next stage was finalist’s announcement on May 13, 2016, and then the whole finalist’s work will be selected through Mandiri Fiesta facebook began on 14 until 16 May 2016, and the winner will be announced on May 19, 2016.
Rangga admitted it took less than two days to find ideas and drew an illustration. “Actually I know this competition at injury time, two days was very close to the deadline,” he said.
Cover with “Sharing” theme, Rangga explained his design is about share the togetherness. “The theme I have chosen is the illustration of a happy little family enjoying the beauty of Ramadan,” he said.
To add to his portfolio, Rangga said the competition was memorable for him because it could increase the knowledge to produce a better illustration. “I was able to further explore my illustration drawing techniques,” he said. (Purel / aw)
