BANDUNG, TEL-U – Delegation of Telkom University through Superpreneur team won 3rd place in the national competition The 13th HIPOTEX-R Young Economist ICON 2016 organized by Bogor Agricultural Institute, Wednesday-Friday (9-12 / 11). The team consists of Titin Kartini Rini (S1 ??Business Administration 2014) and Ilham Ramadan P S N Siregar (S1 Business Administration 2014).
To reach the 3rd place, Superpreneur team should pass five stages. The first stage was the making of abstract in the preliminary round. Then proceed to the next stage was the presentation of full paper. Passed the presentation stage, the Superpreneur team advanced to the brainstorming stage. And at the final stage was debate competition.
In the abstract stage to presentations, Superpreneur team chose the topic of educational technology to develop monetize a smartphone application called EZ Marker. Rini said, EZ Marker is an application-based exam papers examiner smartphone developed by Buah Batu Team. “We collaborate with Buah Batu Team to devise strategies of EZ Marker monetize for this product,” said Rini.
In the brainstorming, the team discuss about the country’s infrastructure. Superpreneur team gets the topic on the effectiveness and efficiency for the fast train from Jakarta to Bandung. “On this topic we discuss in terms of the economy, investors, sovereign debt, and how it impacts after construction,” said Rini.
The good results achieved by the Superpreneur team in the brainstorming stage and the selected team proceeded to the final stage. The final stage was a debate competition, which is divided into two sessions. First session, Superpreneur team dealing with Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta and the second session dealing with Diponegoro University, Semarang.
Ilham said, the result was from the accumulated points earned by each team from five stages. “From the accumulation we achieved the all three,” said Ilham.
Ilham and Rini expected that, they can join the competition again and make Telkom University proud. “Hopefully in the future we can bring greater title again,” said Ilham.
Meanwhile, for the first champion by from the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and 2nd place won by the team from Brawijaya University. The competition was participated by eight teams from various universities in Indonesia, namely the State College of Accountancy Jakarta, Bogor Institute of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya, Diponegoro University, The University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, the State Islamic Institute of Tulungagung, and Telkom University.
