Tel-U Invited Industrial Expertise to Prepare the Millennial Generation

JAKARTA, TEL-U – Telkom University Rector Prof. Ir Mochamad Ashari, M Eng, Ph D invited industrial expertise to develop human resources in order to set up the millennial generation. Thus in 2035, Indonesia will be the country with the greatest 12th economic power in the world.

“We ask the expertise in the industry together with universities prepare the millennial generation – the golden generation that will hold the key in 2035 to improve Indonesia as the country with the greatest 12th economic power in the world,” said Rector.

This is conveyed by the Rector when opening Industrial Gathering and Best Employer Award 2016 held at the Grand Ballroom of the Intercontinental Jakarta Midplaza, Thursday (1/12).

Millennial generation is the younger generation who were born in the era of 1990 – 2000 or commonly called the digital native generation.

Rector also expressed the expectation that college graduands, especially Tel-U can be absorbed by the industry. “Therefore, through this event, we also want to give appreciation to Tel-U partner which has been a user of our graduands,” said Rector.

This event also attended by Head of the Division of Human Capital of Bank BTN, Arief Pramuhanto in a talk show titled “Synergy Industry with Higher Education in Shaping Millennial Generation”. Arief asserted, employees in the millennial era is now to be given the freedom or independence in the work. “To optimize the performance of employees of the millennial generation we have created a dynamic work environment and provide an opportunity to develop the potential of this generation,” he said.

In addition to the seminar entitled “Best Practice Millennial Recruitment”, also attend the Director of Human Capital Management PT Telkomsel, Priyantono Rudito, Ph.D., who claimed to have recruited no less than 1,000 millennial generation at the company he leads.

“This generation is the generation who democratize, daring and creative. Currently we consistently to recruit this generation and now there are a thousand new recruits millennial generation with different recruitment system, “said Priyantono.

The event was also enlivened by giving awards to 18 companies with the category IT Services & Solutions Company, Telecommunication Company, Manufacture Company, Telecommunication Infrastructure Company, Financial Institutions, and Creative Industry Company.

Director of Tel-u Career, Desy Dwi Nurhandayani said that the award to 18 companies active in absorbing a graduate of Tel-U, actively provide feedback in order to improve the quality of graduands, as well as actively participating in activities which is organized by Tel-U. (PR / AW)
