Tel-U Lecturer Organized Social Media Effective Communication Training for District Employees
BANDUNG, TEL-U – Actualized Tri Dharma Value, lecturer from Communication Studies program Faculty of Communication and Business Telkom University (FKB Ikom Prodi Tel-U) organized a Community Service program (Abdimas) at Kawalusu Building FKB Tel-U. This event was fulfilled with a workshop called Effective Communication through Social Media to 50 employees of Sukasari districts, Bandung, on Wednesday (3/2).
At the opening, Dean Faculty of Communication and Business (FKB) Dr Jafar Sembiring said Tel-U has the vision of becoming a world class university with ICT (Information and Communication Technology)-based. “Therefore, development of ICT skills is part of our concern,” he said.
The chairman of this community service program, Early Salmiyah F.A explained, the employees of Sukasari District put more attention to the ICT world. In addition, they have a high desire to learn and targets to be achieved together. “So we think that effective communication through social media that will be very useful for them,” she said.
Dini said, this program assisted Sukasari employees in applying the citizen journalism activities to their field so that each of them able to contribute to the District. “We hope that the program is sustainable because somehow the world of ICT is growing very fast and we must continue to follow it,” she said.
Camat Sukasari Drs Ayi Sutarsa gave an appreciation of this event. According to him, the development of ICT in line with Bandung mayor’s program which plan to turn Bandung into Smart City “We still have shortcomings in this technology field. Hopefully after this training, our staff acquire a better understanding, “he said.
Employees of Sukasari District enthusiastic in participating this program. One participant, Rina Apriani said, this workshop provides a new experience and knowledge for them. “For us, using Photoshop application is very rare, through this workshop, it’s become more familiar in photo editing,” she said.
