Three Tel-U Teams Won the Rocket and Balloon Atmospheric Competition

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Students Telkom University achieved achievements at national competitions again. This time they won three awards at the Payload Rocket Competition and Indonesian Rocket (KOMURINDO) and also Atmospheric Charge Balloon Competition (Combat) 2015 on August 2 until 5 2015 in the Central Production and Testing of National Rocket Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) Pameungpeuk District Garut, West Java.

The three teams are teams Ghatotkacha APTRG which compete at payload rocket category, consisting Tedy Zulkarnaen, Adi Agung Prasetya, Dwi Puspitasari, Irvie Augustine, and Mohammed Syahputra. The second team is a stork APTRG team which compete in EDF rocket category, consisting Fadil Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Lutfi Azzam, and Anggara Wijaya. While a third team is the Ararkula ISS team consisting Ivan Harimurti Krishna, Gautama Pradana Yusuf, Galuh Mardiansyah. They competed in Payload atmosphere balloon category.

Competition that organized by (LAPAN) consists of three categories of KOMURINDO that is Payload Rocket, KOMURINDO EDF Category (Electrical ducted fan) and Kombat. “In these three categories Telkom University come with three best teams for the three categories,” said lecturer and team builder, Budi Syihabuddin, Wednesday (5/8).

According to Budi, the top event of this competition took place on Tuesday (4/8). At the peak of this event conducted flight test and launch air balloon, after the previous day has been tested as a function of verifying the feasibility of flying.

“At this stage, Tel-U team won the first winner for the team in the category Ararkula ISS Atmospheric Payload Balloon, IV position to the team Gatot Kaca APTRG at rocket payload category, as well as the Best Idea for Stork Team APTRG at EDF rocket category,” he said.

According to Budi, the accomplishments achieved through strict competition against a team from the PENS, UGM, IPB, ITB, UNIKOM, UMY as well as teams from other universities.

Tel-U team was a combination of students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Industrial Engineering. Under the guidance of Burhanuddin Dirgantoro and Budi, they managed to carve achievements that could be a birthday gift for Telkom University 2nd Anniversary which falls on 14 August.
