Bandung ICT Expo Becomes the Top of Telkom University’s 6th Anniversary Celebration

BANDUNG, Telkom University – As the No. 1 best Private University in Indonesia, Telkom University as a campus that implements Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the learning and facilities, Tel-U held The Biggest ICT Show titled Bandung ICT Expo 2019, at Telkom University Convention Hall on 24-25 October 2019.

Entitled the Innovations & Startups Explore “Promoting the Development of Indonesia’s Digital Economy Through Innovations and Synergy of Universities, Industry, Government, & Communities” this event will be filled with innovation exhibitions by companies engaged in telecommunications, start-ups, and products of Telkom University students.

On the first day of the event, in addition to the exhibition, this event will open by Speech from Sukarela Batunagar as the Deputy Commissioner of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Institute and Digital Finance, and also Edwin Aristiawan (Director of Wholesale & International Service of PT Telkom Indonesia). Followed by a seminar on “The Future of Telco Infrastructure & Business Model” by the largest telco companies in Indonesia namely Telkom Indonesia, Telkomsel, ZTE and Huawei. On the second day, there will be a Leaders Talk which invited Teguh Wahyono as Director of Information and Digital Technology of PT Pegadaian and Indra Utoyo as Director of Digital, Information Technology and Operations of Bank BRI.

Also, there will be a sharing startup, by big start-ups in Indonesia, namely Aruna, Grab Indonesia, Kumparan, and Nodeflux. The Celebration of Bandung ICT Expo 2019 is also in line with the peak of National Student Information Technology and Communication or GEMASTIC XII, which is a program of the Directorate of Student Affairs collaborate with the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.

Telkom University is assigned to host the Gemastik XII celebration, entitled “Information Technology for Excellence in National Competitiveness”. The competition was attended by 3,634 teams from 135 universities throughout Indonesia and was divided into 11 competition divisions namely Programming, Cyber Security, Data Mining, UX Design, Animation, Smart City, ICT Scientific Paper, Smart Device Software Development, IoT Embedded System, Games Development, and ICT Business Development.

Telkom University Rector Prof. Adiwijaya when opened the Bandung ICT Expo 2019 explained that the event is annually organized by as the contribution in creating the best innovations for the nation to grow the digital economy.

“Following the theme, we continue to play a role in creating the best innovations for this country, which at this time through Bandung Techno Park we have produced start-ups that are ready to be utilized by the community.” He said.

Adiwijaya also added that through Gemastik XII competition it is also expected that there will be many works and innovations that will help the development of the digital economy in Indonesia.

“Thank you to Kemenristekdikti who has entrusted us to be the host of this biggest ICT event, hopefully, the participants can produce a masterpiece for the progress of Indonesia.” He explained.
