Expecting a Successful Football in the country, Tel-U Held National Football Championship

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Football condition still battered by sanctions from FIFA as well as the weaken quality of the players prosecuted all parties concerned. One of efforts is to prepare young players from local competitions.

This was conveyed by the Director of Student Telkom University (Tel-U) Hendratno SE, Akt, MM on the sidelines of Universities Football Championship Series 1 2015, which was held at Indonesia University of Education (UPI) Saturday – Tuesday (26- 29/12 ).

According to Hendratno, this championship become an event for football player which was students to compete, in order to contribute positively Indonesian football which currently receding. “It can also escalated the glory of Indonesian football in Asia or in the world arena,” he said.

Hendratno expected the match could continue every year and scheduled well under the coordination between KEMENRISTEKDIKTI and KEMENPORA as well as the agenda of Central Sports Committee (Central KONI). “This event also become a way for students to stay in touch with students from other educational institutions,” he said.

The football championship of universities was followed by eight universities in West Java and Jakarta with the requirement that a player is active student with a maximum age of 21 years (U-21). Opened by the Director of Student Affairs and Career Preparation KEMENRISTEK DIKT, Dr. Didier Wahidin, the first match was held on the UPI’s football court Bandung as a host against the University of Padjadjaran (Unpad).

Head of Sub Directorate General Education and Student Affairs KEMENRISTEK DIKTI who is also Secretary General of PP BAPOMI, Asep Supanda, pointed Tel-U as the executor of activities and invited UPI as a committee. (purel / AW)
