BANDUNG, Telkom University – For the development of independent young entrepreneurs in tourist destinations, Telkom University in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy organized the 2021 Independent Young Entrepreneur Development Program. Kemenparektraf is superior and competitive through independent entrepreneurship in collaboration with Telkom University and the UMKM Community.

This event was opened virtually on Monday (15/03) through the Zoom Meeting and was attended by the Coordinator of Community Empowerment, the Provincial Tourism Office of North Sumatra, Central Java, and West Nusa Tenggara, Telkom University Leaders, Deans, and Directors.

This event was officially opened by Dr. Wisnu Bawa Tarunajaya, S.E., M.M., as Deputy of Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. In his remarks, he explained that this collaboration could be increased to provide opportunities and opportunities for all levels of society in 34 provinces.

“This entrepreneurship is as a support, driving the development of tourism and economy in tourist villages and the Deputy for Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has programs for developing tourist villages and we have to make the tourism village independent,” he said.

Dr. Wisnu Bawa Tarunajaya also explained that one of the characteristics of an independent tourist village is that people have independent businesses. All supplies and needs from tourists who come to visit the tourist village can be met from the local or the tourist village. This has become the target of developing a tourist village.

Also, the Deputy for Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has mentoring programs and it is hoped that these entrepreneurs will have competency certification as proof that HR has competence.

“We continue to encourage and cooperate with friends from the industry, from UMKM Friends and Educational Institutions. We embrace, unite together to develop tourism so that our community is independent. We have to collaborate, innovate, be adaptive to any changes that exist. Let us build this country together, starting from developing entrepreneurship, developing tourism, and in the end, the economy will be able to run. “

Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya as the Rector of Telkom University said that Telkom University has high inclusivity because Telkom University students number 31,000 who come from 34 provinces throughout Indonesia.

“Students must continue to adapt and this is a strong asset in how Telkom University also handles adapting to students, adapting to a new environment and this reflection is a strong starting point for collaborating with any party,” he said.

Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya also explained that every entrepreneurial development is adaptive, collaborative, and innovative. This is an extraordinary challenge, but we must be able to try to be independent in this regard. The support of current economic growth is MSMEs, where the figure is above 60 percent and this means that the acceleration is expected to be realized as soon as possible because, during the Covid-19 Pandemic, which was badly hit, not only health problems but economic growth must be resolved as soon as possible.

“I am sure that the online training for independent young entrepreneurs will encourage MSMEs in tourism areas especially, this will grow as soon as possible and Insha Allah, this will be ready to become the backbone of national economic growth.”

Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya added that this collaboration is in line with Telkom University’s Vision, which is to become a Research and Entrepreneurial University in 2023. It not only strives to produce superior human resources but also makes a positive contribution to the economy.

“Of course, the benefits of this event are not only for Telkom University, not only for the UMKM that is fostered and so on but also for the Indonesian nation. Reza Rahmana Kaloka as Coordinator of Regional Community Empowerment II explained that the online training activities for independent young entrepreneurs are part of the superior program of the Deputy for Resources and Institutions of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism to encourage superior, competitive and independent Kemenparekraf HR through entrepreneurship, which this program is a collaboration between Kemenparekraf, Telkom University, and the UMKM community.

“This program aims to increase the capacity of entrepreneurs engaged in tourism in managing their businesses or businesses digitally both from the aspects of human resources, human resource management, finance, marketing, and future business planning. And also prepared to meet directly with local and national investors to get capital facilities, “he said.

As a kick-off for program socialization, a webinar on inspiring independent young entrepreneurs was held on March 4, 2021, presenting inspirational and experienced speakers. The online training for independent young entrepreneurs is held in 2 weeks and consists of two batches, namely the first batch which will be attended by DSP Danau Toba, Borobudur, and Mandalika starting from March 15-27, 2021. Furthermore, batch 2 will be attended by DSP Kupang, DSP Labuan. Bajo and DSP Bali will be held from 29 March to 10 April 2021.

“The 2021 Mandiri Young Entrepreneur online training was attended by 100 people from each DSP from the curated results of 1740 participants. This training will be carried out for two weeks accompanied directly by speakers from Telkom University with a series covering digital literacy or introduction to LMS, how to use NGO applications, learning digital people module material, digital marketing, digital finance, digital business through LMS, virtual face-to-face through ZOOM. twice per week and quiz work twice per week after virtual face-to-face. “

Participants in the best independent young entrepreneur online training will be re-curated into fifty participants from each DSP to take part in the offline training with module evaluation, discussion, case studies and practice for three days and preparation for pitching including preparation of a business plan and presentation techniques for one. day.
