Telkom University organized the 27th Leader’s Talk on Wednesday (3/11) at the Telkom University Auditorium (Gd. Damar). The main topic to be discussed is “Digital Leadership in Globalization Era”, delivered by the Regent of Sumedang, Dr. H. Dony Ahmad Munir, S.T., M.M.
Thanks to his leadership, Sumedang has been chosen as the best Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) in 2020.
Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, appreciated how Sumedang is currently so thick in carrying out the digital transformation that it has made many achievements thanks to the innovations it produces.
“In 2020, when the pandemic occurred, Sumedang made achievements, such as the best SPBE 2020, Innovative Government by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and so on. This is because the Regent has always been a role model for other ASNs through his leadership which will be shared with all of us today.” said the chancellor.
This is the first time the Leader’s Talk has been held offline again after some time being held online due to restrictions on community activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to the Regent of Sumedang, Tel-U also had a special guest, namely Sri Radya of the Sumedang Larang Palace, Your Excellency HRI Lukman Soemadisoeria. He revealed that the process of digitizing the royal archives is expected to be able to cooperate with Tel-U.
“Before the digital implementation, our data was initially stored manually, we realized that digitization was necessary. Especially regarding genealogy, history, information on heirlooms, we need it. Hopefully, the digitization process can cooperate with Tel-U.” he said.
He also said that in Southeast Asia 7 crowns are currently considered as icons of a country from the kingdom that is in it. One of these crowns is in Indonesia, precisely at the Sumedang Museum with the name “The Crown of Binokasih”.
In the presentation delivered by the Regent of Sumedang, he talked about leadership in the era of digital globalization. The Regent revealed that so far collaboration between institutions and industry has been the key to realizing innovative governance.
“I have a dream to make Sumedang have a world-class government system. In the process, we implemented the Penta helix on which our collaboration is based. We carry out bureaucratic reform. We change the government’s mindset to a culture of service, manual to digital. So that leaders will become role models, trust will emerge from the people, so that people will actively participate in developing their regions as well,” he said.
At the end of his presentation, he emphasized the three main points of being a good leader, namely: intend every job as worship, serve the community well, and make innovations with information technology. Digital Leadership is a must in government in Sumedang.
