Tel-U Prepares State-of-the-Art AI Development Facility With Nvidia DGX A100

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University is one of Indonesia’s campuses with a supercomputer from Nvidia DGX A100. It is because Tel-U is a member of the Indonesia Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium (IARC), which the Ministry of Education and Culture-Risk formed to support the National Strategy program in the field of Artificial Intelligence (STRANAS AI).

The NVIDIA DGX A-100 supercomputer is an NVIDIA production machine that can be used for High-Performance Computation (HPC) and overcoming serious computing problems, especially in Artificial Intelligence and the sciences that surround it. The supercomputer accommodated the specifications so that the technological gap between academia and industry could be reduced.

According to a Lecturer at the School of Informatics and Head of Image Processing and Vision Laboratory Tel-U, Suryo Adhi Wibowo, Ph.D. revealed that Tel-U succeeded in obtaining DGX A100. Thank you to Tel-U’s participation in the Kedaireka Matching Fund program, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) through the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) to accelerate AI development in Indonesia.

The function and purpose of the presence of the DGX-A100 supercomputer at Tel-U are to support the DIKTI program in accelerating digital talents, products, and startups in AI. Especially with Tel-U being a Telecommunications campus that excels at the national level, these functions and goals are focused on the telecommunications area for the acceleration of ai products, applications, and startups that support 5G and 6G technology.

“DIKTI facilitates institution members of the IARC to help DIKTI accelerate AI strands and create superior Indonesian human resources in the Digital Talent. Especially AI-based products and startups in the field of ai native to Indonesia, of course, in collaboration with international partners who are already very reliable in this field, namely NVIDIA, which its official representative in Indonesia represents,” explained Suryo.

This supercomputer is not only limited to use by tel-U internal parties, but agencies that already have an MoU with Tel-U and MoA with tel-U Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC) can also take advantage of this supercomputer facilities. After the MoU is established, relevant agencies can apply for an Access Link to the official email [email protected].

For information, the NVIDIA DGX A100 supercomputer is a platform to perform AI workloads with an AI performance of 5-petaflop. This device is also powered by 8 NVIDIA A100 Tensor GPUs and NVIDIA Networking, a high-speed network device.
