Telkom University held the 2014 International Conference on Global Trends Academics Research (GTAR)

BALI, TEL-U – Telkom University, cooperating with Global Illuminators, held the international academics conference on 2-3 June 2014. The theme given on the conference was “Global Trend on Academic Research (GTAR) 2014.”

The conference was held in Pan Pacific Hotel, Nirwana Bali with the total participants of 479 from 18 countries. Besides that, at least 13 professors and associate professor were contributed to this conference as well. The conference is the part of the first Dies Natalis of Telkom University.

The Telkom University’s Rector, Prof. Mochamad Ashari, Ph.D acted as the keynote speaker in the opening ceremony. He talked about the development of renewable energy in Sumatera Island, Indonesia in his keynote speech. The other keynote speaker was Prof. Zamri Mohamed, Dean of Sekolah Perdana Kebijakan Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Telkom University’s Vice Rector IV, Dr. Yahya Arwiyah, M.H acted as the conference president in the event along with the director of research and community service of Telkom University, Dr. Palti Marulitua Sitorus, M.M.

Most participants came from Malaysia, with the total of 341 academicians, and next on the list was Indonesia with 46 academicians. The domestic participant came from 11 institutions, where Telkom University contributes the most participants with the total of 18 participants. This event hopes to strengthen the position of Telkom University as Research University. (Purel/ RDZ)
