BANDUNG, Telkom University – The Senate Open Meeting of the Telkom University (Tel-U) with the 17th graduation agenda of Masters, Bachelor, and Associate Experts for Period II of the 2018/2019 Academic Year held on Saturday (April 6, 2019). The trial held at the Bengal Building or the Telkom University Convention Hall (TUCH) confirmed 1,286 graduates from 27 study programs, among 31 study programs in seven faculties at Telkom University.

After going through this inauguration process, the graduates will join the University Telkom Alumni Forum (FAST) with a total of 44,250 alumni and spread across 30 countries including the United States, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, France , Germany, Belgium, Poland, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Timor Leste.

The Rector of Telkom University Prof. Adiwijaya congratulated and thanked the graduand’s parents for entrusted their children to Telkom University.

“Hopefully the hard work of you, as parents will be rewarded doubly by Allah SWT and Hopefully all the knowledge that has been learned by the graduands will be blessed for your future journey.”

Telkom University has a vision for the next 5 years to become a research and entrepreneurial university in 2023 which actively play a role in the development of information technology-based technology, science, and arts.

In line with this, Prof. Adiwijaya said that entering the age of 6 in 2019, Telkom University strives to have Digital Resource Excellence which provides accessible e-learning content for the public from within and outside the country.

“Entering 2020, Tel-U assigns some targets to achieve Digital Education Excellence, reach the International Research Quality Excellence marked by 15 Top National Scopus in 2021, Entrepreneur Ecosystem has truly been embedded by having Entrepreneurial Culture University Excellence in 2023 and become a 5-star QS Star University.”

Stepping on the 6th, Telkom University constantly strives to continuously improve the institution’s quality that is oriented towards national and international standards. This was proven after achieving “A” accreditation by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education, of the 31 Study Programs, 71% or 22 Study Programs have been accredited A or Very Good.

In addition to institutional accreditation, the number of Tel-U study programs currently reaches 31 study programs which are 22 of them have obtained “A” accreditation and 14 of them have received international accreditation from ABEST 21, ASIC and IABEE.

Mid-year of 2018, Telkom University is designated as the highest publicity university in Indonesia in the category of Private Universities (PTS) in the 2018 Science and Technology Index Awards (SINTA) by the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Telkom University is also ranked as 1st in Private Universities for the highest international publication productivity (schimago version), the best PTS in webometrics, and PTS in the most popular according to 4ICU (Unirank). Kemenristekdikti also awarded Widya Padhi to Telkom University as a College with the best Innovations.

“Furthermore, Tel-U has also achieved 150th worldwide ranked as green campus and has been ranked as 10th in the version of the UI Green Metric.”

Having a vision of becoming an entrepreneur University is also evidenced by the results of startups built with a model ecosystem in Bandung Techno Park, which is 31 Startups have been produced and 9 of them have been independent like pasarlaut.com with more than 800 thousand US dollars per year.

“The most recent good news from our startups are 2 of them are categorized into the Top 10 Enterprise Social Innovation Challenge by AliPay from the AliBaba Group in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS).”

In closing, the Rector praise all the stakeholders which involved in the development of Telkom University.
