GLOW Program Invite Students to Learn International Contexts
BANDUNG, Telkom University – Global Learning Week (GLOW) was held by Telkom University for the third time. Through the International Class Academic Office (ICAO), Glow will take place for the next one and a half weeks from May 20 to May 29, 2019.
The third GLOW was officially opened in Tokong Nanas Building 8th floor, Telkom University on Monday (20/5). This opening ceremony is to facilitate the academics in the teaching and learning process, especially engineering students in an international context.
Dr. Retno Hendryanti, chairman of the program, said that this year, GLOW presented 6 guest lecturers from Malaysia, including:
- Prof. Zulikha Jamaludin from Universiti Utara Malaysia
- Dr. Erween Bin Abd Rahim from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia
- Dr. Nor Hasrul Akhmal bin Ngadiman from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
- Dr. Mohd Fitri bin Mohd Jacob from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia
- Dr. Zuraida binti Abal Abas from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, Malacca
- Dr. Zurina Saaya from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, Malacca
“Later, the 6 lecturers will teach 6 courses from 4 study programs includes Telecommunications Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Information Systems. Students who participate in this program are Tel-U international class students starting in 2016 – 2018. “She said.
The Rector of Telkom University Prof. Adiwijaya stated that through this GLOW program, Telkom University students could tie their competencies and open their horizons in the international learning process.
“I welcome the teaching staff to Bandung, welcome to Telkom University, and thank you for being a great atmosphere of the education system at Telkom University.
Initially introduced in 2017, Glow is a learning program to tie the competency of Telkom University students. This program is conducted as exposure for Tel-U students to technological innovations which has an influence on society, has technological and scientific insights, has a concept between fields of study and analysis of problems and up to date trends in the community. This academic activity is designed to enrich the international academic atmosphere at Tel-U, to improve the quality of teaching and learning, and to expand international mutual benefit among the experts.
