The Faculty of Electrical Engineering was established along with the establishment of STT Telkom in 1990, which at that time was named the Department of Electrical Engineering, and had 2 (two) study programs namely the Bachelor of Telecommunications Engineering and D3 Telecommunications Engineering Study Program. Based on Minister of Education and Culture Decree No. 027/01991, on 30 May 1991 the two Study Programs were given Registered status. In 2007, the Electrical Engineering Department changed its name to the Department of Electrical Engineering. Along with the change in the status of the Institution from the Telkom High School of Technology to the Telkom Institute of Technology on November 27, 2007. Furthermore, along with the addition of study programs in the Department of Electrical Engineering, on February 1, 2009 the Department of Electrical Engineering changed its status to the Faculty of Electrical and Communication. The Faculty has 4 study programs: Telecommunication Engineering S1 Program, S1 Electrical Engineering Study Program, S1 Computer Engineering Study Program, Telecommunication Engineering D3 Study Program. During the transition to the fusion of 4 institutions owned by the Telkom Education Foundation, becoming Telkom University, the Faculty of Electrical and Communication changed back to the Department of Electrical Engineering, which became part of the Faculty of Engineering. Besides the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Science is also part of the Faculty of Engineering.
