IKOM Students Stage Back the Broadcast Movie Project

BANDUNG, Tel-U – Student of Communication Studies, Faculty of Communication and Business Telkom University (FKB IKOMTel-U) held an annual event called Broadcast Movie Project (BMP). Titled BMP 2016, this event was held on Thursday (25/02) in the Auditorium of Kawalusu Building FKB.

BMP is an annual event held as tribute from final semester Broadcast students. BMP 2016 filled with some interesting events such as movie screening – final project of Film Production course, special guest star, and awards of six categories.

The awards consist of Favorite Poster (Pandora); Favorite Trailer (Kakek Petualang); Best Documentary Script + Fiction (Sintren Cirebon, Tiga Pertanyaan Kaisar); Best DOP Documentary + Fiction (Mata Suar, Senja); Best Documentary + Fiction Editor (M. Ganda Rahmalis – Kakek Petualang, Kevin Septhama & Numan Ghossany – Pandora); Best Director Documentary + Fiction (Mata Suar, Senja) and Best Documentary + Fiction (Terlupakan, Senja).

The awarding of these six categories based on the assessment from the judges consisting of four lecturer from Communication Studies.

In cooperation with Indonesia Mengajar, the event was held as a learning material for the future. Attended by Vice Dean II, Dr Syariefuddin, Head of Communication Studies, Rah Utami Nugrahani well as several lecturers from IKOM study program, and also attended by one of the representatives from Indonesia Mengajar, Muhammad Afif Farris.

“Hopefully cooperation between BMP and Indonesia Mengajar can continue and become a proud for Communication Studies Tel-U students,” said Rah Utami, as person in charge of BMP, 2016. This event was the second time after a similar event held last year.

Carrying the concept of a night market by watching movie at the paved floor, BMP 2016 successfully held and received tremendous attention from the audience which is mostly from students of Telkom University.

Chief Executive BMP 2016, Prima Hidayat wished this event can be better in the coming year. “I could not believe it, a lot of friends can awesomely produce movies. For me, BMP not only screen the movie out, but also process to appreciate each other’s work, “he said. (Purel / BRR)
