BANDUNG, TEL-U – Rector of Telkom University (Tel-U), Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M. Eng, Ph.D said the target to create Tel-U as International Campus or World Class University (WCU) cannot be accomplished overnight. It takes time and hard work to achieve this through the quality and reputation of the institution.
“WCU it cannot be built overnight. This institution established based on the quality and reputation.
Webometric rank just the effect. If the quality arise, the webometric rank is automatically can be achieved. The campus quality is directly proportional to the webometric rank,” he explained.
Rector statement conveyed to about 50 participants who attended the Management Meeting (RaPim) Telkom Foundation in Lembang Asri Resort, Bandung. This event themed “Building Synergy and solidity to Actualize Year of Quality” was held over two days, Wednesday-Thursday (22-23 April 2015).
Rector explained about the World Class University (WCU) clearly on his presentation. Based on the results of pre-management meeting of higher education institutions, Webometric still used in the measurement of WCU. For 2017, Telkom University targeted to reach 800’s position. Aside from that professor targets of 10% by 2017, and set up two study programs for S3.
The meeting begins promptly at 9:00 pm. Begin with report from the Chairman of the Committee, Yati Rohayati, then opened by the Chairman of Telkom Foundation Ir. Dwi S. Purnomo, M.M. Here in after Dwi provide direction, related to educational institutions and business units Telkom Foundation. He said, the Foundation had great ideals to be the Leader of ICT Education.
In this agenda, there are three activities implemented that is Olah Rasio, Olah Rasa, Olah Raga*. After the opening on Wednesday (22/04), then held Olah Rasio. Activities include presentation of educational institutions in Telkom Foundation.
After Rector presentation, next presentation was delivered by the Chairman of ST3 Telkom Purwokerto Hafif Grace Isna, ST, MBA. Furthermore, the third presentation delivered by Akatel Director Ir. Zainal Arifin, and the final came from Director of Primary and Secondary Education Rina D Pasaribu, M.Sc., CPM (ASIA).
