Bandung, Telkom University – A reforestation of the campus area and the optimization of water catchment in the rainy season is done by Tel-U through planting trees and making of 1000 biopori holes scattered throughout the campus. This event was held concurrently with the summit of the 6th Anniversary Tel-U, which was Bandung ICT Expo last week (24-25/10).
Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya said that Telkom University wants to be green land which has high water absorption soil. “Given that the area around Tel-U is a flood prone area, 1000 Biopori made is expected to be able to make Tel-U be a place of water catchment and make the rain water quickly get into the soil. Groundwater reserves in Tel-U area can be increased “he explained.
This activity was held by the Directorate of Logistics on the instruction of rector. In its implementation, involved several company officials and institutions that have long synergized with Telkom University. The inauguration of tree planting and 1000 Biopori was attended by voluntary Batunagar (the Commissioner of the OJK Institute and Digital Finance), Edwin Aristiawan (Director of Wholesale & International Service of PT Telkom Indonesia), Dwi S. Purnomo (Chairman of YPT) and rector of Tel-U, Prof. Adiwijaya and his ranks.
