Bandung, Tel-U – ICT development in Indonesia continues to grow. This is a supporting factor of economic growth in Indonesia which is growing at 4-5 percent annually. As presented by the Rector of Telkom University, Prof.. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., Ph.D., at the opening of the International Conference on ICT (ICoICT) 2014 in the Grand Ballroom of the Royal Panghegar Bandung, Wednesday (28/05) yesterday.
He said that ICoICT was organized as a series of the Telkom University First Anniversary events (Dies Natalis). โAs the series of the Telkom University First Anniversary, ICOICT 2014 was hosted to bring the innovative ideas and prototypes in the field of ICT,โ he said in his speech.
A total of 23 countries around the world have been submitting papers related to the ICoICT 2014 theme that is the Internet of Things (IOT): Infrastructure, Computation and Its Application. โWe as the committee received the scientific papers from 23 countries in the world included Asia, Europe and America,โ said Dadee Nurjanah, Ph.D., Chief Executive of ICoICT 2014. According to him, ICoICT which has held twice since 2013 was intended as a means for practitioners and scientists to be able to share ideas and results of research they have done. And will be useful for the development of ICT in the future.
In the opening of ICoICT 2014, there were also Kuncoro Wastu Wibowo, the Chairman of the IEEE Indonesia Section. He said that according to the IOT ICoICT 2014,it will be useful to address global challenges in the field of ICT. In his speech he said, โIOT is the ability to link information with other information. The challenge now is how the general public can use the information in a way that is good and right and feel the positive impact of ICT developments โ.
International Conference was held from Wednesday (28/05) through Friday (30/05). During the event, participants will follow the discussion and focus group discussion (FGD) with tutors and panelists. In addition there are also present the keynote speaker at the ICoICT 2014 Prof. Jin Mitsugi, with the theme โAdvancements of Automatic Identification Technologyโ and Prof. Teddy Mantoro with the theme โIOT: Emerging Trend of Sensing, Computing and Communicationโ.
