BANDUNG, TEL-U – Films by students from Faculty of Creative Industries Telkom University (FIK Tel-U) successfully won as first and second champion at the Art and Sport Competition of Psychology Students (ASCOPS) event. Artsportlidarity themed competition was organized by BEMF Psychology Gunadarma University in the Sport Center, H Campus Gunadarma University, Kelapa Dua, Depok, 7 to 12 May last.
FIK team sent three films that is Kliwon, Stairs and Thanks for Freedom. “Of the three short films, the film Kliwon won first prize and Stairs won the second,” said Ridwan Muhammad Firdaus, a student of Visual Communication Design Multimedia force in 2012, on Monday (25/5).
According to Ridwan, related to Artsportlidarity theme, movie theme values of friendship. Likewise the idea of Stairs which tells the story of someone with disabilities but able to cope with problems on his work by working together.
The third film was made under the guidance of lecturer FIK Tel-U, Teddy Hendiawan, S.Ds., MSn. Teddy said, the film is the task for Property Setting course. There are three types of films made by students that is the documentary, fiction and experimental. While the three films that contested all types of fiction movie.
“In a fiction film, the most important is the power of narrative. How narrative film was presented and how the script deliver a story and message. The ideas can be taken from novels, poetry, literature or songs. While other important thing is the technique of filmmaking itself. Now the technology has advanced, so filming could be better, “said Teddy.
Teddy added, the film industry in Indonesia is very prospective and still lacks of content. “Obviously this is an opportunity for students and instigators of the film to continue to be creative and make quality films,” he said.
