PONOROGO, TEL-U – Successfully won the Governor Of Central Java trophy in 2014, this time Perimatrik thrivingly bring home the 1st place trophy Men’s Team in National Hiking Competition in Ponorogo, East Java, which was held at Elephant Hill neighborhood, Ponorogo, East Java, Sunday (19/4).
The competition organized by the Islamic Muhammadiah Nature Lovers Student (SIMPALA) to celebrate Earth Day. Entitled “Lomba Lintas Alam SIMPALA V (LLAS V)” National 2015, this event provide many team and individual trophies category. LLAS V become the 5th event after a long vacuum since 2010 ago.
The competition was attended by hundreds of athletes who come from all over Indonesia. With a distance approximately 20 kilometers, the participants ran through hilly terrain, villages, rivers and rice fields. In addition, the athletes were also given an insight about caring the environment such as planting trees and other environmental knowledge.
According to the Team Leader, Agung Tri Yuono, actually it was not the first time they joined the competition like this. “But praise The God, as experience, competition in Ponorogo is a blessing with the name of Telkom University,” he said.
Having taken the trouble to travel to East Java and compete against hundreds of athletes, finally Perimatrik team ranks first in Men’s Team category and won the Police of Ponorogo trophy.
The team, consist of Agung Tri Yuono (IKOM 2012), Faishak Nuruz (MBTI 2012) and Bayu Aulia (MBTI 2012) returned to Bandung with a proud smile to present a new achievement for the organization and alamamater.
In addition to the men’s team, perimatrik also send one woman’s representative that is Dewa Ayu Cistaning student of Communication Studies (Ikom) class of 2013 that have to be satisfied in a 5th place out of 107. (Azzah)
