BANDUNG , TEL – U – University of South Australia ( UniSA ), one of the university that is located in southern Australia ready to support the research development of Telkom University. This was stated by Vice-Chancellor of Deputy Vice Chancellor & International & Advancement UniSA, Nigel Relph, during a visit to Telkom University campus on Wednesday (7 /5).
The arrival of Relph and seven other UnSA leaders were welcomed by Telkom University leaders in Rectorate Meeting Room, Learning Centre Building 5th Floor. During this meeting both parties alternately presented vision and mission and numbers of opportunities that can be followed in a form of cooperation. For example, employee and student exchange, exchange of information for educational and research purposes.
In addition, joint education and training were agreed, research, publications and joint symposia, also other activities that will give a mutual benefit for each party that related to educational program and research.
Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President Prof. Robert Short and International Development Manager Bret Sutcliffe from Division of Information Technology, Engineering and The Environment was seen enthusiast when Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., Ph.D explained some of particular researches that are being worked by the lectures of Tel-U. This enthusiasm then followed by a question and answer session, even after the meeting officially closed.
Therefore, in a meeting that lasted for more than four hours was discussed further cooperation related to the development of technology. UniSA was very interested to accelerate the research.
This is consistent with the vision of Tel-U and UniSA that each of university has a program to create graduates who are competent in terms of technology. “We express our student to be leaders in their future careers, their professions, industry and their whole community,” said Short.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Academic and Information Systems Dr. Heroe Wijanto optimist with laboratory capacity that owned by Tel-U, the graduated students are able to compete on the world stage. “We have 110 laboratories. 21 were created as a space for Research Group in the field of telecommunications,” said Heroe in his presentation.
Moreover, according to Heroe, Research Group which is being worked by Tel-U is associated with Nano Satellite. Therefore, he hoped that the cooperation with UniSA would help the development of Nano Satellite Technology.
The visit of UniSA was ended by the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties. “We’re optimist that this partnership will put forth a new breakthrough for Tel-U to expand its wing on a global level,” said the rector. (KomPro / DH)
