Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia and the company NR Link Systems made an offline visit to Telkom University, which took place on Tuesday (28/06). The agenda of this visit focuses on how the three institutions can further strengthen cooperation in waste management through incinerator innovation tools that will be developed together.
Representing the leadership of Telkom University, the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Bambang Setia Nugroho, S.T., M.T., said that the impact of research produced by an educational institution is a priority so that the benefits can be felt directly by the wider community.
“In recent years, we have focused on the benefits of research. At Tel-U, we have Bandung Techno Park as a downstream medium. The upstream is at the faculty. Later it is BTP that will package up cooperation with the industry. So that lecturer can focus on innovation and research.” said Bambang.
Tel-U will develop a multipurpose incinerator product with an automatic B3 category waste management system. UiTM will later play a role in producing byproducts from waste management. Meanwhile, NRLink will support all the technical needs that Tel-U required in manufacturing its incinerator.
Deputy Vice-Rector (Research and Innovation) UiTM, Prof. Ts. Dr. Norazah Abd Rahman expressed her appreciation to Tel-U, which is always open to any opportunities for collaboration with various institutions, including UiTM. He also opened up opportunities for Tel-U lecturers interested in further study at UiTM S3.
“We hope that what we are doing today can be useful for the community, especially regarding waste management, which is currently a global concern. In addition, we open opportunities for Tel-U lecturers who are interested in pursuing doctoral studies there. In the future, hopefully, there will be more collaborations.” Norazah said.
