BANDUNG, TEL-U โ Telkom University and Faber Castell, one of the leading and the oldest pencil producers worldwide, re-engage Indonesian youth and artists especially those in Bandung to express their ideas and creativities in โArt & Graphic Drawing Competitionโ. This event was held in School of Creative Industries, Telkom University Hall (FIK), Saturday (17/9).
The theme was โBirunya Lautku, Hijaunya Hutankuโ and 350 participants were participated on this event divided into 2 categories, category 1 (college students and public) and category 2 (junior-high school). This competition will be held in 12 major cities in Indonesia.
According to, West Java Promotion Coordinator, Abdul Rasyid, the reason he chose FIK Tel-U to be the host of this event in Bandung because they were satisfied on their cooperation last year with Tel-U. โLast year we already held similar competition in Tel-U, and we are more than delighted to conduct another enormous event here along with FIK Tel-U great support on this event,โ he said.
At the same time, Dean of FIK, Dr Ir Agus Achmad Suhendra, MT appreciated the cooperation with Faber Castell because it could encourage public interest in drawing. โDrawing is a basic skill in cultivating arts or design such as fashion design, interior design, or multimedia application design,โ said Agus.
In cooperation with World Wildlife Fun (WWF) as an institution concerned about environmental issues, Rasyid explained the aim of the theme is to promote public consciousness especially youth in Bandung and throughout Indonesia to be aware on environmental issues.
โThrough drawing, we would like to facilitate Indonesian artists to build awareness pertaining to environment by choosing marine pollution and deforestation issues,โ he said.
