BANDUNG, TEL-U – Farahiyah Inarah Putrir, student of Textile Craft Fashion class of 2013 Faculty of Creative Industries Telkom University (FIK, Tel-U), successfully won as juryโs favorite at Indonesia International Islamic Fashion and Products 2015 was held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Thursday (10/9).
This achievement was achieved after she followed the selection process by submitting 10 sketches. “Stages of selection that I went through began by sending 10 pieces fashion illustration sketches from concept, image board, material, inspiration and then after passed as a finalist, I did an interview in Jakarta with a jury”, said Farah, Friday (18/9).
After that Farah get other tasks to be completed within three weeks. “After the interview, I shall realize 5 pieces of my work and also given the additional task, that is making a creation of songket original Melayu Deli and due date only 3 weeks to realize it all,” said Farahiyah.
Farah feels the competition in this arena was very tight and selected by a professional jury of senior designers, like Tuty Cholid, Jenny Tjahyawati, Dina Midiana as Director of Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW), and Pilma from Paras magazine.
On this work, Farah took theme Cenast Java, the mix of cultures from Central Java and East Java in the form of kebaya kutu baru with modification touch.
Farah wished this achievement would inspire other students of Tel-U. “Hopefully, this achievement can increase achievement of Telkom University and to attract new qualified students,” she said. (purel / radit)
