FIK and PT JIEP Develop National Creative Industry Center

BANDUNG, TEL-U – School of Creative Industries Telkom University (FIK Tel-U) was trusted to develop the facilities of the National Creative Industry Center which will be located in the area of Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta. “Creative Industry Center will be a miniature representation of the 13 sub-sectors of the creative industries which growing in Indonesia,” said Dean FIK, Dr Ir Agus Achmad MT, Friday (29/7).

Development of National Creative Industry Center, according Agus, was one of the seven points which agreed between Tel-U with PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) during a meeting last Friday.

The concept, added Agus, similar to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in which there was a whole miniature of provinces. While the National Creative Industry Center filled with representatives from all sectors of the creative industries. “We will provide the human resources in this project start from curator to the artist,” he said.

In addition to cooperation in the development of creative industry center, there was another cooperation between the two sides, among others organized joint exhibition, research and joint training, as well as landscape design creation for the mega project PT JIEP.

Agus said, for FIK the cooperation was able to create a great opportunity for professors and students to carry on their potential for self-actualization. “I know this is a link and match between institution and industry, because PT JIEP will get the human resources engaged in the creative industry from Tel-U,” he said.
