BANDUNG, TEL-U – Faculty of Creative Industries Telkom University (FIK Tel-U) received another achievement. They successfully won the 1st National Competition User Experience User Interface. They were Gilang Ananda Lewis, Muhridhon Ahmad, and Septian Hadiguna, a student of Visual Communication Design 2011.
According to Gilang, the competition challenged participants to design a system or a product-oriented to user comfort and convenience in using the product or system. “Participants are required to be able to design a good interface at the same time designing a good experience for users,” says Gilang, Friday (29/5).
Gilang and his team have made appropriate proposal in the preliminary round. The proposal must contain the background and purpose of making the product, as well as target users who will use the planned product. In addition, the team must also explained about the navigation, architecture, application and system design constraints products in the proposal.
“We qualified for the final. At this stage other than to be able to make a good product system, the team also required to present these products to the jury. The products we made, namely Design UI / UX MagTrip Mobile Application, “said Gilang.
MagTrip is an application that allows users to search for information about travel destinations in Magelang city, while also being able to play in the real world on the special features named MAIN. Through this application, the team wanted to raise the potential of Magelang district as one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia. In addition to Borobudur, Magelang has other tourist attractions that are not less interesting.
The competition organized by STMIK-STIE Mikroskil, Medan. This competition entitled “The Role of Information Technology in the Tourism Industry” and it was attended by students from various universities. Gilang thought, the competitors technically outstanding describe their products. But the team DKV FIK Tel-U is not less superior to its competitors.
“We prepare our work and its presentation as possible. Preparation includes interactive displays, display 1: 1 on smartphones and convincing verbal presentation, “said Gilang.
Next planning, the team will further develop these applications to be more useful. They will share the experience of this competition to the younger levels to achieve the achievement. “The impression was remarkable because it can bring a good name for alma mater and got new experiences,” said Gilang.
