BANDUNG, TEL-U – Angga Rusdinar, lecturer from Faculty of Electrical Engineering Telkom University (FTE Tel-U) managed to obtain international certificates on paper which presented at International Conference on Engineering Service Learning (ESL) in 2015.
The event was held in Malaysia and it is the cooperation between Pusan ??National University, South Korea and Malaysia Technology University, also three universities in Indonesia such as Institute of Electronic Polytechnic Surabaya, Bali State Polytechnic, and Telkom University. All participants were collected and formed into 10 teams and each team is made up of different countries.
According to Angga, each team sent to areas in Malaysia such as Punggai, Desaru, UTM, and Johor Baru for eight days, from 17 to 24 August 2015, to find the problem that occurred on that area. “Each team was given a target area to make a product or tool that can be utilized by the community,” he said.
After the activities carried out in Malaysia, they created a tool will be assessed and the best works were included in exhibitions and competitions in Korea to seize the prize tens millions rupiah.
“There are students from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Riesa, which goes into the best team and create a table that size can be minimized and enlarged,” he said.
The event that has lasted two years was intended as an Engineer Education is to educate students so that they understand how they can think as an engineer. The theme chosen for this year was “Engineering and Capstone Design”.
Angga added, next year plan would be held in Bandung. “I hope the city government can support this event, as well as to the number of participants can be followed by all faculties at Telkom University,” he said. (purel / AW)
