Telkom Education Foundation (YPT) has officially merged Telkom Institute of Technology Jakarta (ITTJ) and Telkom University (Tel-U). The decree (SK) awarding ceremony was held on Wednesday (1/2) at the Office of Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDIKTI) Region IV, Bandung City.
The merger is officially stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbud Ristek) Number 115/E/O/2023 concerning ‘Permit for the Merger of Telkom Institute of Technology Jakarta in Jakarta into Telkom University in Bandung Regency Administered by Telkom Education Foundation’.
The Head of Higher Education Service Institutions Region IV of West Java and Banten, Dr. M. Samsuri, as the official who issued the decree, emphasized that the merging of the two educational institutions is an effort to provide quality higher education.
“We would like to congratulate both campuses. We hope that this can have a positive impact on improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Please continue to maintain quality assurance, be a high-quality university, and create competent and globally competitive alumni,” stated Samsuri.
The Chairman of the Telkom Education Foundation Board of Management, Dodi Irawan, revealed that the unification of the two educational institutions under the authority of the Telkom Education Foundation is an effort to accelerate education equality throughout Indonesia. Thus, the community can have better access to quality education.
“This is our contribution to the country, to provide quality educational facilities in various regions in Indonesia. This step is the beginning of the Telkom University National Campus (TUNC) program which will be held in the near future,” said Dodi.
For additional information, Telkom University National Campus or abbreviated as TUNC is the concept of forming several branch campuses from Telkom University in areas that are considered potential by implementing the Telkom University brand and standards that are based on Telkom University in Bandung.
