“Many universities in Indonesia have the ability but in the end, the public trust is the key. The society must agree that the university can create outstanding students and become an advantageous person for society .” He said.
Prof. Tjan explained how the quality assurance process during this pandemic, previously in the independent campus quality assurance process, it was explained in Permendikbud article 6 that PT (Higher Education) which already had a passive ranking/accreditation was just waiting, because BAN-PT was obliged to extend the accreditation if there is no requirement that the previous rank is not fulfilled.
“It means that the current regulations, universities focus on running quality education, while BAN-PT will see to what extent the requirements for accreditation are still being met. If it is not fulfilled, we will contact the university to request the required data, because all study programs and universities should be in an accredited status. ” He said.
