BANDUNG, Telkom University โ Successfully producing innovations that benefit society, the Innovillage program was held again. In its 3rd year of implementation, Innovillage 2022, this time carries the theme Empowering Young Sociopreneur for National Development.
The collaboration program between Telkom Indonesia and Telkom University through the Telkom Community Development Center (CDC) and Telkom University Career, Alumni, and Endowment Development aims to accommodate and facilitate students in training social sensitivity by producing digital solutions to overcome existing problems in society.
According to Afriwandi (Director of Human Capital Management) Telkom Indonesia, the purpose of the innovillage program is to train students to be sensitive to problems that exist in society and be able to produce solutions to these problems.
“It is hoped that this program will produce young digital talents and digital innovation works that can benefit the people of Indonesia,” he said.
Furthermore, Afriwandi explained that Innovillage is one of the social programs at Telkom Indonesia in developing community digital competencies in the university environment.
“This program will be opened as wide as possible for students and universities from all over Indonesia. Hopefully, what we do in this program can benefit the people and nation of Indonesia,” he said.
Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, said that the Innovillage program is in line with the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program. It has been implemented at Telkom University, where students are encouraged not only to have technical and analytical skills but to practice their ability to identify problems in society and industry, as well as become solutions to the problem.
“This is also in line with Telkom University’s vision as a Research & Entrepreneurial University that has benefits for the people of Indonesia and the world,” he said.
Prof. Adiwijaya explained that this program is designed to accommodate students throughout Indonesia to remain productive and innovative by carrying out social project activities in villages that benefit the community and the surrounding environment.
“In Innovillage 2020 and 2021, I have witnessed from years to years how the innovations produced by students can help the community. Besides that, I also communicate directly with the community, and the community is very enthusiastic about this program,” he said.
The Chief Executive of Innovillage 2022, Director of Career Development, Alumni and Endowment of Telkom University, AT Hanuranto, said that this Innovillage had won the hearts of the wider community. This year, the amount of matching funds prepared by CDC Telkom for this program has increased to 2.25 billion for 150 social projects in 150 villages throughout Indonesia.
“We invite all students to participate in this activity, immediately prepare their proposals, find problems in society, and become Indonesian digital talents in the future.”
