Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya Explained Tourism Digital Marketing
BANDUNG, Telkom University – Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpar RI) Dr. Arief Yahya explained that currently digital marketing process is 4 times more effective than conventional media.
“The digital marketing process is more effective because our current customers are millennial generation, 70% of which exist in cyberspace. Social media and digital media”. He said
This was disclosed by Arief Yahya while speaking at the MICE CREAM seminar Creative Marketing On Tourism Industry “The Role of Marketing in the World of Tourism” organized by Marketing Management D3 study program at Telkom University Faculty of Applied Sciences (FIT) on Monday (11/26).
Arief Yahya further explained that Indonesia’s tourism as the largest foreign exchange producer must be utilized properly by current generation, especially D3 Marketing and D3 Tourism study programs of Telkom University.
“Because in my opinion the millenial generation has distinct needs and behaviors, especially because they are very dependent on technology and social media, the second is milenials as an important segment because of its size and influencing power and the last is the potential that milenials have is necessary in the development of special marketing strategies as an initiative to capitalize future potential, especially in the tourism industry, “he said.
Rector of Telkom University Prof. Adiwijaya in his speech said that such event should be able to be utilized by students as well as possible, because could get speakers who are experts in their fields.
“Hopefully what you get from the minister can be absorbed as much as possible and become useful knowledge in the future,” he said
