BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University holds community service activities in collaboration between lecturers of the Faculty of Creative Industries and the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Community service activities are carried out on Jl. Talaga Bodas No.35 Malabar, Lengkong District which is administratively bordered by the North: Batununggal and Sumur Bandung districts, East: Batununggal sub-district, Southern part: Bandung Kidul district, and West part: Regol sub-district.
The purpose of choosing this place is because there are many activities of residents who come to this sub-district office to take care of various forms of licensing including permits that are often made related to issuing micro and small business licenses (IUMK), recommendation of SKCK cover letters, domicile certificates, permits closing the road for construction or events, ratification of poverty certificates, letters of recommendation and ratification of applications for divorce, unmarried, and married. As for other matters, namely managing documents related to certain permits such as groundwater exploration certificates, spring excavation, land use change certificates, inheritance, and waqf. Thus many people leave and enter the sub-district office, who must always maintain their cleanliness and health and assist the campaign for the โBandung Against COVID-19โ movement.
For the sake of comfort and safety, new normal activities and so on, it is necessary to pay attention to the circulation path at the main door of the โsocial distancingโ lobby associated with flow activities by both employees and visitors to the district office. It relates the flow of activity to placing Portable Hand Wash, distance of queues when there are over two visitors, and circulation of employees who will work. Apart from basic human needs and flow activities, another thing that needs to be considered is aesthetics related to human psychology as its users. Aesthetics can provide beauty in a room with health protocol facilities, because the application of good aesthetics will indirectly affect the mood which leads to a sense of happiness, enthusiasm and other positive things. Portable Hand Wash also uses a water tap with a hand sensor, as an effort to prevent the spread of the virus by touching the same object for a short period, this can also make it easier for users and shorten the time to wash hands.
As an effort to prevent the transmission and spread of the COVID-19 virus in the Lengkong District area, Telkom University lecturers which led by Mrs. Santi Salayanti, with members of Bpk. SyaripHidayat, Bpk. T. Zulkarnain M, Mother. Titihan Sarihati, Mother. Ati Mustikasari, Mother. Nellyaningsih, and assisted by the students, felt it was important to place portable hand wash facilities with the Environmental Design approach because the coverage of Lengkong sub-district comprises various population segments and there are several public facilities such as cafes, learning facilities, and restaurants. Several considerations in the design solution at the sub-district office include the comfort-safety of new normal activities and so on, it is necessary to pay attention to the circulation path at the main door of the lobby โsocial distancingโ associated with flow activity on placing Portable Hand Wash, by paying attention to the queue distance when there are over two visitors people, and the circulation of employees who will work. And the Design Environmental approach solution is a simple type of campaign to always remind the importance of running the Health with Action protocol, donโt forget to wash your hands, besides the Portable Hand Wash design which is donated using a water tap with a hand sensor, and the use of soap and hand dryers that donโt need to be touched as an effort to prevent the spread of the virus by touching the same object for a short period, this can also make it easier for users and shorten the time to wash their hands.
โFor the sake of security convenience for new normal activities and so on in the Lengkong sub-district and its surroundings, a design product that supports the campaign of the movement (Bandung Against COVID-19) is needed. The Portable Hand Wash Product Grant is a simple campaign to always remind the importance of carrying out health protocols by washing hands, besides design products made using water taps with hand sensors, as well as the use of soap and hand dryers that donโt need to be touched, as an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. by touching the same object within a short period,โ said Santi Salayanti as the head of PKM, an Interior Design lecturer, Faculty of Creative Industry, Telkom University.
The process of preparation, production, installation and handover of community service activities were carried out for approximately two months from September to November 26 during the handover and friendship, even though during the COVID-19 pandemic, thank God the sub-district head and staff still pleased to present at the time of the handover of course with the health protocol that is still being implemented.
โWith this grant activity, I am happy and proud of Telkom University which has become a partner in supporting the movement to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, especially in the sub-district office as the main community service office in the Lengkong area of ??Bandung. Hopefully, this kind of awareness program can be added and we should continue to promote it as a campaign to get used to washing hands for all residents. Thank you, โ said the Head of Sub-district, Dra. Aniya Rachmawati SP, M.Si
According to him, by making a portable hand wash multifunctional design with this environmental design approach, it can be an example of an ideal product besides the function of a place to wash hands but has other education regarding the campaign to wash hands so they become accustomed and make them aware not to touch water taps, soap, and hand dryers. .
