GARUT, TEL-U – Rector of Telkom University (Tel-U), Prof. Ir Mochamad Ashari, M Eng, PhD invited Head of Study Program to increase the amount of research. The increasing quantity of research throughout the study program will encourage the institution achievement.
This was conveyed by Rector at management meeting in Garut, on Tuesday (9/2). “Thank you for the achievements so far, but I hope that all management can be more excited to escalate number of research,” he said.
Rector also said a number of Tel-U rank conducted by several institutions with different assessment criteria. First, the Webometric ranks issued last January. In webometrics, Tel-U reached 29 in Indonesia and 3236 world rankings. It’s up from last year at 4,606 in world’s ranking.
Second, based on the International Colleges and Universities (4icu) 2016 rank, Tel-U reached the top five best Private University (PTS) and ranked 23 overall universities in Indonesia. On this rank, position 1, 2, and 3 occupied Instititut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), and the University of Indonesia (UI).
On this occasion, Rector also said about Green Matric 2015. On this rank, Tel-U is reached 10th position in Indonesia and 212 world’s position. While the survey conducted by TEMPO stated that Tel-U crowned as second best PTS after Trisakti University. Then in Scopus publication period on January 2016, Tel-U got 19th in Indonesia.
“The rank need more attention because it is the part of public trust to our institutions and I believe we can continue to improve this feat considering to our age just turned two and a half years,” he said. (Purel / raf)
