Restore the Country through Anti-Corruption Values

Sarasehan PustakaBANDUNG, Telkom University โ€“ The Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPK RI), in collaboration with Telkom University through the Open Library and the Directorate of Student Affairs, held a Library Workshop. This activity was held on Tuesday (23/11) online through the ZOOM Meeting, and broadcast live via YouTube Telkom University and the Indonesian KPK.

Since 2019, the KPK, in collaboration with Telkom University, has established the KPK Corner, a mini-laboratory containing various collections of books and other teaching aids about corruption and its eradication and will undoubtedly encourage learning research and studies on corruption. As a continuation of activities and cooperation in terms of anti-corruption literacy and to encourage anti-corruption education in universities, the KPK Corner was activated in the form of a Library Workshop routinely held annually.

Acting Head of Public Relations Bureau of the KPK RI, Yuyuk Andriati Iskak, explained that the Library Workshop is committed to providing anti-corruption education. It is held by inviting expert speakers, academics, and practitioners to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas to prevent and eradicate corruption.

“This Library Workshop can be input and can collect ideas and ideas, and this is also an effort from the KPK to provide an understanding that corruption can happen anywhere and anytime. Therefore, we must always be vigilant and know what corruption is and how to prevent it, and provide information to the environment about the dangers of this corruption. After all, the consequences of this corruption will certainly be felt by us as Indonesian people.”

Entitled ‘Restore the Country through Anti-Corruption Values,’ the Library Workshop presented several speakers, namely Aida Ratna Zulaiha as Director of the KPK Education Network; Dr. Ir. H. Fontian Munzil, S.H., M.H., M.B.A., M.Ak., M.E., CFrA., CFP., QWP. As an M.H. Lecturer at Esa Unggul University and Trisakti University and a Former Ad Hoc Judge at the High Court of Corruption; and Dr. Andry Alamsyah, S.Si., M.Sc., as a lecturer in the Social Computing & Big Data Lab at Telkom University.

“Through the speakers at this Pustaka Workshop, I think my fellow students can definitely dig up a lot of information and literacy, especially those related to anti-corruption education. I know that Telkom University has adopted this anti-corruption education with several courses and values ??to provide students with an understanding of anti-corruption.”

Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, as the Chancellor of Telkom University, said that Telkom University has three values ??that are always instilled in its academic community, namely Harmony, Excellence, and Integrity. Integrity is the foundation of implementing the values ??of Harmony and Excellence.

“This is related to anti-corruption character education, not only superior performance characteristics but also the moral character as the foundation of everything. How to raise trust in each other, respect from other colleagues, from other institutions, that is how we develop the value integrity that exists in the Telkom University culture.”

Universities have an essential role, both through literacy and other activities, to contribute to eradicating corruption in Indonesia. The KPK is not the only institution that must resolve all corruption matters in Indonesia. However, the public, including students, have a role to play in supporting the eradication of corruption in this country and making Indonesia a clean and corruption-free country.

“I hope we will continue this collaboration again and again for several activities, especially regarding anti-corruption literacy. Hopefully, we can become anti-corruption role models and figures who always remind, always invited to stay away from corruption and practice anti-corruption values ??consistently.”
