BANDUNG, TEL-U – The government plans to build and develop 100 Science Techno Park (STP) or the National Science and Technology parks in every province in Indonesia. The plan is in accordance with President Joko Widodo program that is Cita Nawa. STP will be professionally managed areas with the aim of encouraging sustainable economic growth.
“STP is expected to increase the capacity of the technology and support the activities of science and technology which is spread in Indonesia and Jakarta as the center,” said Minister of Research and Technology, Muhammad Nasir when opening Kickoff National Program Development 100 STP, Thursday (7/5), in Telkom University Convention Hall Bandung Technoplex.
Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Mochammad Ir Ashari M.Eng., Ph.D., came to the event. And itโs also attended by the regents and mayors, and the rectors of universities in Indonesia. To all Kick-off Program participants, Nasir urged to increase the synergy of the triple helix between government, academic and business world. “The establishment of this STP should be beneficial for the people of Indonesia and could boost the nation’s economy,” said Nasir.
Meanwhile, Minister of Human Development and Culture Coordination, Puan Maharani requested that universities must comprehend a focus research. โThe research is targeted and has a timeline so that the results can be immediately utilized by the community and useful for the future,” said Puan.
Puan urged universities to synergize the movement with other parties. “STP as an effort to increase the productivity of society and Foster the spirit of entrepreneurship that is based on local wisdom for the community, “said Puan.
The signing of STP construction commitment developed by Kemenristekdikti and the signing of MoU between the various parties of which the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, BATAN, BPPT, LIPI, the District / City Government and Universities also took place in this event.
