BANDUNG, TEL-U – Telkom University (Tel-U) agreed with the Government of South Nias for arranging cooperation in scholarships for the students from South Nias. This agreement was discussed in a meeting between the Vice Rector IV Research and Students Affairs, Dr. M. Yahya Arwiyah, SH., MH along with the Head of Education Department of South Nias Dra. Magdalena Bago, S. Pd, MM, MBA in Jakarta, Thursday (3/12).
At the meeting which was also attended by the Director of Student Affairs Tel-U, Hendratno SE Akt, MM, explained that South Nias regency very concerned to improve the quality of Human Resources during this time.
“Since 2010 they’ve routine entrust their students to take bachelor degree at some universities with good reputation. Gajah Mada University and Trisakti University as example, “said Hendratno.
For the year 2016, he added, Tel-U has some similarities subsequently to be next campus cooperation with South Nias Regency. “Today, our students have already started doing the selection at the level of SMA / SMK which has study program in engineering,” he said.
In this cooperation South Nias regency hope that the scholarship grantee will successfully handle their study without any failure. “They provide a benchmark that should be appreciated that in the 2nd to 4th semester the students must pass with a minimum GPA of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00 under the supervision of their parents,” he said.
