BANDUNG, Telkom University โ ZTE Corporation (0763. HK/000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications, enterprise, and consumer technology solutions for mobile internet, today officially entered into a partnership with Telkom University. This collaboration will organize the 5G Rising Star Program for Telkom University graduate students and award scholarships to several undergraduate students at Telkom University.
“ZTE Corporation regards talent as one of the three cornerstones of a company’s development and is the key to increasing productivity. Selection, training, and placement of local talent are key to ensuring we develop faster and go further in the internationalization process. By working with leading universities, we explore more 5G application scenarios and create more innovations together. We are committed to building an integrated training model with universities to support domestic digital talent development fully,” said Mei Zhonghua, SVP, ZTE Corporation.
Meanwhile, Richard Liang Weiqi, President Director, ZTE Indonesia, said that along with the rapid development of technology, human resources are also needed who are fluent but have the potential to become superior local digital talents and face global competition. At ZTE, digital talent (talent) is one of the three cornerstones of the company’s development, and ZTE has always considered a skill to be the company’s main strength. As a leading technology company worldwide, ZTE wants to support this increase in digital talent, and we are delighted that the collaboration with Telkom University can continue this year. We hope that through this program, Indonesia’s young generation who excel can continue to develop their capabilities in the digital sector through scholarships and career opportunities and explore experiences at ZTE Indonesia.”
The collaboration between ZTE Indonesia and Telkom University includes two major activities. The first is the 5G Rising Star program, a campus recruitment program for fresh graduates who want to start a career at ZTE.
Through an effective and efficient selection process, selected candidates receive a series of training provided by ZTE’s expert team, career opportunities in cross-cultural work environments, and participate in career development programs. These new graduates can occupy several strategic positions, such as Account Manager, Product Manager, and Technical Engineer.
Another program included in the cooperation between ZTE Indonesia and Telkom University is awarding scholarships to five outstanding undergraduate students. The scholarships that will be given are expected to support the education plans for selected outstanding students and motivate other students to continue enthusiastically pursuing education. ZTE provides a scholarship program for four semesters for students who have registered and passed the selection process.
ZTE Indonesia’s efforts in developing local digital talent received a warm welcome from Telkom University. “We appreciate ZTE Indonesia’s efforts to continue to develop young Indonesian talents to be more competent and later to be able to contribute to advancing domestic technology. The 5G Rising Stars program aligns with Telkom University’s vision and mission to advance the telecommunications industry in Indonesia. We hope that the cooperation between ZTE and Telkom University will continue to be closely intertwined in the future,” said Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, Chancellor of Telkom University.
Previously, ZTE had assisted in constructing the Telecommunications Laboratory and Training Center at Telkom University to provide adequate facilities to improve the competence of Telkom University students.
“Telkom University has contributed many outstanding talents to the Telecommunications industry. More than 20% of ZTE’s current employees are graduates from Telkom University, which has significantly contributed significantly to the company’s development. Therefore, we look forward to strengthening cooperation and undertaking various training projects for in-depth telecommunications talents in the future.” concluded Richard.
ZTE’s 5G Rising Star program has been going on since 2019 and has provided educational and job opportunities to dozens of Indonesian digital talents.
