BANDUNG, TEL-U โ Again, Telkom University (Tel-U) showed its existence at international arena. This achievement carved through the prestigious event, Global Mobile Innovators Tournament 2016 organized by IBM 4YFN (4 Years from Now), AT & T, KPN, Rogers Communications, and Vodafone in Montjouic Fira, Barcelona on 22 to 25 February 2016.
After against nine teams from various countries in the semi-finals, two teams from Tel-U, Brainstat Studio with the concept of Safety Transportation and Hoome Team with the concept of Smart Home successfully goes to Barcelona then finally vanquished the other four finalists at the peak of event.
Both teams are comprised of three (3) students of Informatics, 1 student of Electrical Engineering, 1 lecturer of Informatics, and 1 lecturer from Faculty of Applied Sciences Tel-U.
After struggling from the hard competition, finally Brainstat Studio Team became the first champion in the category of Travel & Transportation Connacted. Whereas, Hoome team successfully crowned as Best Innovation in Smart Homes and Buildings.
Those achievements were decent because of the uniqueness of the work on that different categories. “Brainstat Studio able to monitor the driver condition, whether tired or sleepy, in order to prevent accidents. While the Hoome team involved the Internet of Things which is able to set the mood of the house according to people conditions, “said Said Al Faraby from Student Affairs Faculty of Informatics.
In addition to the innovative solutions, they also received a great opportunity to directly connect with many investors. Also, they approached the golden opportunity where successfully reach the sympathy from Vodafone as their current investors.
Dody Qori as a lecturer at the Faculty of Informatics and also the coaches for both teams was deeply grateful for the long road closer to reality. “Insyaallah Vodafone will help us to realize our idea. It is getting closer for Brainstat Studio to become a standard protocol for safety transportation and Hoome will be the first smart home which 100 percent understand the owner,” he said, Monday (29/2). “Thank God, for the God Shake and the red and white Flag,” he said.
